Cathro & Partners launches Forensic practice with appointment of Emma Levett

Cathro & Partners has announced the launch of a Forensic practice, bringing independent and evidence-based financial analysis to complex disputes, investigations and contentious matters.

The new practice will combine deep technical accounting expertise with commercial insight to investigate irregularities, quantify loss and deliver clear, defensible opinions that withstand scrutiny.

Leading the new arm is Emma Levett, who joins the consulting firm as Principal. She brings deep experience in forensic accounting and financial investigations, having worked with mid-sized businesses, multinational organisations and ASX-listed companies across a wide range of industries. Her expertise includes corporate fraud investigations, economic loss quantification, litigation support and expert witness services.

Prior to joining Cathro & Partners, Levett was Partner and Head of Forensic Accounting Services at Sedgwick, where she led complex investigations and supported civil and criminal recovery proceedings. She has also held senior roles at Procare Group and SFP Forensic, after beginning her career as a financial investigator with the Australian Federal Police.

Levett will setup and expand the practice to offer services across three core areas: fraud and financial investigations, expert reports and expert witness services, and litigation support and dispute resolution. The team will work closely with legal advisers, insolvency practitioners, regulators and other stakeholders involved in the forensic value chain.

Founded in 2001, Cathro & Partners now supports its clients with four lines of business: restructuring & turnaround, insolvency, forensic accounting and government advisory.
