Rapid Circle makes two senior appointments in Australia

Microsoft consultancy Rapid Circle has promoted Gavin Lewis as its new chief technology officer for Australia, while also welcoming Steve Godbold as head of delivery.

Both based out of Melbourne, Lewis has been with Rapid Circle for the past seven years, while Godbold crosses to the firm from his most recent CEO role at Tickbox, bringing further senior leadership experience at Telstra Purple and its acquisition Readify.

The appointment of Lewis continues a recent evolution of the firm’s C-suite, with Paul Tucker joining as commercial chief earlier this year and co-founder Daniel McPherson taking on interim managing director duties following George Stavrakakis’ move to Holland as group CEO.

Gavin Lewis

A Swinburne University of Technology computer science graduate, Lewis then spent a decade and a half at Effective Digital, latterly as head of cloud, prior to joining Rapid Circle as an Azure principal cloud solutions architect in 2019. He has since held a number of roles, including as head of Azure capability and most recently a solutions specialist. He now steps into the CTO role.

“Over the past seven years, Gavin has played a key role in Rapid Circle’s growth in Australia and globally,” the firm stated on LinkedIn. “Having worked across delivery, solution design, and customer engagements, he brings a deep understanding of both the technology and the practical realities of helping organisations achieve meaningful business outcomes.”

Steve Godbold

Godbold joins Rapid Circle after the past three years as CEO of cloud and security boutique Tickbox, and altogether brings two and a half decades worth of IT experience. He previously served as head of IoT and head of growth at Telstra Purple upon its 2019 launch, having earlier joined the telco following its acquisition of Readify, where he served as chief digital officer.

“Steve brings a strong track record of building and leading technology delivery organisations across cloud, software engineering, and platform disciplines,” the firm stated. “He has worked across complex and highly-regulated environments, including financial services, government and energy, helping organisations scale through secure, productive technology and stronger operating models.”
