Microsoft consultancy Rapid Circle makes three senior hires
Rapid Circle has brought in three senior professionals to its team, including IT industry veteran Rodney Hobbs to the firm’s C-suite.
Rodney Hobbs crosses from Wipro as Rapid Circle’s new chief technology officer, bringing almost three decades worth of industry experience. He follows in the footsteps of Cassandra Ashworth, who was appointed A/NZ CEO last month.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rodney as our CTO in ANZ. His appointment is another example of how Rapid Circle is attracting and investing in top talent to strengthen our position in Australia and New Zealand,” said founder and global CEO Harold Punter, who is based out of the firm’s Amsterdam headquarters.
Hobbs joins the firm in Melbourne after spending the past eighteen months as Wipro’s core business transformation CTO working alongside Ashworth, before which he held senior leadership roles at ServiceNow, Vmware, Fujitsu, and DXC Technology – the latter where he once served again alongside Ashworth as A/NZ chief technologist for digital transformation.
“I am really excited to have Rodney join our team,” Ashworth said of Hobbs’ appointment. “His passion and drive will be critical in guiding this next phase of growth. His vast experience and thought leadership will significantly benefit our clients and greatly accelerate how we can help them to modernise today, to maximise tomorrow with the Microsoft platform.”
Punter added that technical expertise of Hobbs’ level was required to meet the increasing demand the firm is experiencing from customers for Microsoft-based AI and cloud solutions following its string of recent acquisitions, which have included Insync, Adopt & Embrace, and vNEXT over just the past three years, along with Perth-based Microsoft provider Seven Sigma.
Meanwhile, in Perth, Rapid Circle has welcomed Azure solution director Matthew McCahey, who spent the past period as a Microsoft cloud director at Telstra Purple acquisition Versent, before which he spent half a decade as a cloud engineering director at Deloitte.
Having spent the earlier part of his career in IT roles for Egmont, CBRE and Rolls Royce in the UK, McCahey then joined Kloud Solutions in Melbourne, before it too was acquired by Telstra.
In another senior hire, Rapid Circle has recruited former Dell Boomi Asia Pacific & Japan marketing head Tania Mushtaq to oversee its own regional marketing & relations function. Mushtaq altogether spent six years at Dell, and has more recently worked with Rimini Street and as global head of marketing for AI and cybersecurity start-up Castlepoint Systems.
