CyberCX boosts government offering with Foresight acquisition
CyberCX has continued its rampant expansion story, now with the acquisition of Foresight Consulting – a Canberra-based cyber security specialist with a focus on governance, risk and compliance.
Alongside broad alignment with CyberCX’s proposition, Foresight’s allure lies in its pool of experience with big government clients, including a number of federal agencies. Since it was founded in 2006, the firm has worked with government bodies to evaluate complex issues and develop cutting edge cybersecurity solutions.
Commenting on the acquisition – the details of which are undisclosed – CyberCX CEO John Paitaridis lauded Foresight’s “experience and reputation as a security partner for major government agencies and law enforcement,” while also pointing out the additional value the firm brings to the table.
“Foresight’s credentials are impeccable, not just across government but also for their work across the private sector in utilities, financial services, telecommunications and retail. They are known for their exceptional talent, high quality solutions, and focus on customer experience. They are a great fit for CyberCX, not just for the quality of their security services but the alignment to our values.”
For Foresight, the move marks a major upgrade in scale and operations – as noted by managing director Peter Baussmann who described it as an “exciting next step.” He added: “we built Foresight as a proudly 100% Australian company, providing independent cyber security advice as a trusted adviser to our customers. CyberCX supercharges this mission.”
On the charge
And CyberCX has been on a supercharge of its own. The firm was founded last year after a pair of private equity firms merged 12 independent cybersecurity companies across Australia into a single, 400-strong entity spread across 10 offices. All things considered, the firm has had a bright 2020.
In July, the firm acquired Basis Networks – a Melbourne-based cybersecurity entity serving both government and private sector clients. This was topped off an expansion into New Zealand in August this year backed by a NZ$30 million investment earmarked for the development of offices and service channels. Foresight marks the firm’s third big-ticket move of 2020.
“The acquisition of Foresight rounds out an extraordinary year for CyberCX. We have integrated and unified Australia and New Zealand’s leading independent information security specialists to create the region’s most significant cybersecurity services organisation.”
