L.E.K. Consulting promotes Simon York to partner in Sydney
Two years after joining L.E.K. Consulting to lead the newly launched financial services practice, Simon York been admitted into the partnership of the global strategy consulting firm.
“Over the last eighteen months, we’ve proven the demand exists for a new team to operate in the Australian consulting market, serving the financial services sector and the sponsors transacting in those companies,” said York, who joined L.E.K. Consulting from Macquarie Group where he was an Executive Director.
Based in the Sydney office, York has extensive experience in corporate development and strategy in various segments of financial services in Australia and key overseas markets.
York has particular expertise in transaction support and due diligence (during his career he has led or advised on over $28 billion of completed transactions), integration planning, leadership assessment, organisational design, growth strategy and opportunities, partnership engagement and business capability assessment.
Nick Holder, Head of L.E.K. Consulting’s Asia-Pacific Region and the Australia practice, said: “Simon is an experienced strategy consultant, transaction principal and business leader who specialises in creating value for clients by leading transformational and organic growth initiatives that address strategic opportunities. He is an asset to our clients, and we’re pleased to have him on our team.”
Alongside his role at L.E.K. Consulting, York is a guest lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney School of Finance. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from UNSW Sydney.
