Rennie Partners hits 20-employee mark with new double hire
Rennie Partners has welcomed two new hires this month, in a move that sees the specialist consultancy shake off the “start-up” label and break through the 20-headcount mark.
Led by former EY seniors Simone Rennie and Matt Rennie, Rennie Partners provides strategic, regulatory and commercial advice to companies, funds, governments and investors on the transition to net zero.
Andrea Marinelli and Tim Brunner both add to the firm’s senior line-up, having been appointed an associate director in Brisbane and Perth respectively. The consultancy also has a hub in Sydney.
“These are important appointments for us and further strengthen the base for our anticipated growth over 2022 and 2023,” said Simone Rennie, partner and co-founder.
Marinelli previously worked as a Regulatory Specialist with the Australian Energy Market Operator and prior to that, she spent eight years with the Economics, Regulation and Policy team at EY.
With a degree in Economics, Marinelli has been recently involved in network connections reforms and recent gas reforms within the energy markets regulation team. She is well known in the energy distribution sector having advised on a large number of regulatory determination processes and distribution reforms.
“Andrea provides additional senior resourcing within our already strong national regulatory and reform capability, said Simone Rennie.
Brunner joins Rennie Partners directly from EY, where he was a member of the Transaction Strategy and Execution team. He has deep operational experience in the mining sector, having spent over seven years working for Rio Tinto on a number of project and operational mine sites in Western Australia.
Simone Rennie: “With a unique blend of operational and advisory experience, Tim is highly regarded as an adviser to mining clients as they navigate portfolio changes and corporate transaction projects.”
In the coming weeks, Rennie Partners expects to grow its practice with several other senior and junior team members.
