Nous promotes 42 to senior consultant in Australia and overseas
Almost one tenth of Nous Group’s 500-strong global headcount has received a promotion, with 42 professionals across Australia, the UK and Canada being elevated to senior consultant level.
All 42 new senior consultants have been elevated within the first three years of joining the international management consulting firm.
Consequently, the new senior consultants will take on more complex project work as they continue towards the rank of manager, with Nous saying that the promotions demonstrate the swift career progress young consultants can enjoy at the firm.
“Every graduate and early-career consultant who joins Nous Group can be confident that with a commitment to meeting the needs of our clients they can rapidly advance their careers,” commented CEO Tim Orton, who praised the tenacity and resilience of the appointees.
“These new senior consultants have spent most or all of their time at Nous Group in the Covid-19 era, and it has been gratifying to see them make such progress in their career in these uncertain times.”
As an example, one of promotions, Abbey Lay, a workplace relations and safety lawyer who has advised government departments, academic institutes and retailers on people and culture matters, industrial relations and equal opportunity, joined the firm as a consultant in Melbourne barely the six months ago in September of last year.
Another newly-promoted senior consultant, leadership & capability specialist Courtney Greenwood, only joined in February.
The new Senior Consultants are spread across Nous’ seven Australian offices, which include a Darwin branch launched in 2019, along with its outlets in Toronto and London. According to the listings on consultancy’s website, at least 26 of the cohort are based in Australia.
The firm also stated it was aiming to recruit 100 new starters in Australia, Canada and the UK over the course of this year, and so expected its senior consultant ranks to continue to grow.
For those considering a career at the firm, Nous Group is consistently awarded by various organisations as a leading employer, including taking out the number one spot ahead of more than 100 other companies on last year’s Best Places to Work list as assessed by independent human capital research firm WRK+. The firm also last year won awards for HR Innovation, and was recognised as one of the nation’s most inclusive employers by Diversity Council Australia.
