Projects Assured promotes Julie Spencer and Luke Maidens

Projects Assured has promoted Julie Spencer and Luke Maidens to principal consultant level, with the duo both becoming part of the firm’s senior leadership team.

In an announcement of the appointments on LinkedIn, freshly appointed general manager Laura Birchall said the promotions recognise the “outstanding efforts” Spencer and Maidens have delivered to Projects Assured, both at clients as well as internally.

“Their positive, practical approach to consulting, impressive work ethic and genuine care for the wellbeing of our staff are why they have been elevated into senior leadership roles,” Birchall added.

Canberra-based Projects Assured specialises in the delivery of complex organisational and IT programs and projects. Celebrating its 8th birthday at the start of this month, Projects Assured ranks among Australia’s leading project management consulting firms, according to ConsultancyAU’s most recent industry benchmark.

Maidens joined Projects Assured from Group 10 Consulting in 2020 and previously spent time with Deloitte in the United Kingdom. He has over 23 years of project management and consulting experience in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors.

He has worked with federal government departments including the Department of Health & Aged Care, Defence, the Australian Tax Office, and Parliamentary Services; and with not-for-profit and educational organisations including Lifeline Australia and the Australian National University.

Little is known of the background of Spencer, her LinkedIn profile is inactive.

In 2018, Projects Assured was purchased by ASX-listed IT services firm DWS Group for $43 million, with Indian ICT giant HCL then acquiring DWS Group for $162 million in turn.
