Cor Cordis promotes Shaun Matthews to partner
National advisory and restructuring group Cor Cordis has promoted Shaun Matthews to partner.
Now entering his eighth year at Cor Cordis, Shaun Matthews has become a member of the firm’s private-held partnership. He becomes the firm’s 15th partner, together they lead a team of 120+ consultants and staff.
Based in Melbourne, Matthews has over 15 years of experience in restructuring, turnaround and corporate insolvencies. His track record includes assisting in a broad range of restructuring assignments within the retail, construction, hospitality, transport, and property sectors, most notably the recent Mahercorp restructure.
A Victorian volume builder with 780 homes under construction and a further circa 1000 in the pipeline. Mahercorp has a turnover of around $200 million. Part of the team of administrators, “we managed the business’ trading and negotiated the recapitalisation of its business through a Deed of Company Arrangement restructure, gaining the support of government stakeholders,” explained Matthews.
Other significant engagements he worked on include the restructurings of Rhodes and Beckett (a well-known retail group with 29 stores), Mitchco Group (an equipment and labour-hire company), Hub Furniture (a high-end furniture retailer with showrooms in Victoria and New South Wales), and Not Quite Right (whch has 18 grocery stores across Melbourne and Victoria).
Prior to joining Cor Cordis, Matthews spent eight years at Pitcher Partners.
