GHD promotes Lucy Hovanec to regional manager role
Global professional services company GHD has promoted Canberra-based Lucy Hovanec to a regional manager role.
Most recently serving as General Manager of GHD’s Delivery Phase Services practice, Hovanec led an Australia-wide team that provides procurement, construction and project management services for hydrogen, renewable energy, asset closure and mining clients.
In her new role, Hovanec leads GHD’s operations in Canberra, Southern New South Wales and Papua New Guinea. She oversees a team of 200+ people working from offices in Canberra, Wagga Wagga, Bega, Nowra and Wollongong.
“I’m excited to lead GHD’s continued growth in these regions,” Hovanec said. “Our growth is supported by the strength of our great people and their ability to truly partner with our wonderful clients. They tell us that this partnership approach coupled with innovation, different thinking and authentic engagement means they have immediate access to the very best global expertise and they enjoy working with us to achieve on time, on cost delivery.”
After starting her career at Macquarie Bank, Hovanec then spent more than seven years at LIW, a company that designs leadership programmes and learning & development modules for organisations nationally. Following stints at Coffey International and WaterAid, she joined GHD early 2018 to lead the growth of its International Development Assistance team. Since then, she has held a series of leadership roles.
“Lucy’s ability to align people across different teams, break down silos, and enable and sustain high performance is particularly impressive. Her strengths in business development and growth strategy, as well as client relationship excellence are also worth noting,” commented Dean McIntyre, Executive General Manager for Australia at GHD.
