US-headquartered WSN Consulting has launched its first office in Asia Pacific, selecting Sydney as its hub to build out a presence in Australia and the region.

Founded in 2005 in New York, WSN Consulting (around 200 staff) supports clients with a range of management consulting, digital transformation, and technology services. WSN Consulting also has an arm for staffing solutions.

Having previously expanded into the UK (London) and Europe (Amsterdam, Bucharest and other cities), WSN Consulting has now setup up shop in Australia, with the aim to offer greater on the ground support to its existing clients in the region, while establishing itself as a challenger in the Australian market.

“A lot of our clients have global scale, being able to cater to their needs in each region as well as offer what we call round-the-clock support provides us with a unique advantage,” stated Alex Ciccotelli, CEO of WSN Consulting.

Asked why the firm picked Australia above other major business centres in Asia Pacific, Ciccotelli said: “Australia’s stability in the region, along with having a highly skilled and educated workforce, makes it an attractive option for organisations. We are also starting to see a change in our clients’ demands in the region, which was historically focused on Singapore and Hong Kong, now moving to Australia.”

WSN Consulting has appointed Paul Sakr to lead operations in the region, who returns to Australia following a 7-year stint at the firm’s New York office. Sakr is originally from Sydney, where he spent the first part of his career working in financial markets.

On top a broader geographic footprint for clients, Sakr highlighted the expansion’s benefit for staff. “We can now offer our people greater mobility opportunities. Having the ability to offer them access to engagements in major hubs like New York, London and now also Sydney will enhance our selling point for high-level talent both here and abroad.”
