SCD Advisory advises on Viostream's sale to Banyan Software
Sydney-based technology platform Viostream has been acquired by Banyan Software, a globally operating enterprise software business. SCD Advisory provided sell-side M&A guidance to Viostream’s shareholders.
Founded in 2002, Viostream has over the past 22 years grown into a leading provider of solutions for video content management and streaming. The firm’s software suite helps government agencies and companies host, manage, and store their video’s in a secure environment.
Announced on Wednesday, Viostream has now been snapped up by Banyan Software, an investor-backed group that owns several software companies.
The shareholders of Viostream, Atlas Equity Partners (which came on board in 2021) and Bloom Equity Partners (which came on board in 2023), were advised during their exit by SCD Advisory.
“It was a privilege and pleasure working with Viostream and their financial sponsors and finding the right partner for them. We wish Viostream and Banyan Software all the best for this new venture,” said Pierre Briand, founder of SCD Advisory.
Leaders of both private equity firm expressed their delight on the M&A support they received:
Bart MacDonald from Bloom Equity Partners commented: “We could not have imagined a better partner than SCD Advisory to guide us throughout this process: the team combined local expertise with x-border experience to execute this multi-geography deal with a very collaborative attitude and around the clock work ethic.”
Jay Vasantharajah from Atlasview Equity Partners added: “SCD Advisory’s unparalleled transaction experience within the software industry was invaluable in selling our business. We are extremely pleased with the results and would highly recommend SCD Advisory to execute an M&A deal.”
Further growth ambitions
Under the wings of Banyan Software, Viostream aims to explore further avenues of growth, including expanding into new markets and increasing the number of features and products.
“Joining Banyan Software marks an exciting new chapter for Viostream,” said Ian Gardiner and Ron McCulloch, the founders of Viostream. “We look forward to working with them and leveraging their expertise to accelerate innovation and growth. Our customers are the core of Viostream, and we see this as a fantastic opportunity to continue and expand the value we provide to them. We can’t wait to see this opportunity unfold.”
