Insurance broker and consultancy Lockton has opened a new office in Adelaide, its 7th in Australia.

The world’s largest privately-owned insurance brokerage has expanded its footprint in South Australia with a new Adelaide hub, which will operate alongside existing offices in Darwin, Hobart, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney.

Paul Marsden, Pacific CEO at Lockton, said: “Our office in Adelaide marks the inception of our South Australia growth strategy. This move is evidence of our commitment to local growth and elevated service for our clients across all regions.”

To lead the new office, Lockton has brought on board two experienced practitioners, Matthew Linke and Andrew Thornton. Together, they have more than five decades of collective experience in insurance and risk across a wide range of industries in South Australia, including agribusiness, aged care, community services, faith, food & beverage, forestry, manufacturing and transportation.

Marsden said that the appointments of Linke and Thornton responds to a critical need for specialised expertise in the region, particularly as the local market shifts in favour of insurance buyers following an influx of insurer capital. “As we continue to raise the bar on service levels offered, it is paramount that we have local, specialist-led risk and insurance capabilities across all capital cities, allowing Lockton to be a truly national broker.”

Commenting on their new roles, Linke and Thornton said: “Leveraging our collective expertise in insurance and risk management, we believe we are poised to redefine industry standards and deliver unparalleled service to our clients. We’ll challenge the cost and structure of programs to help set new benchmarks in client satisfaction.”

The new Adelaide office is located on Grenfell Street, in the heart of Adelaide CBD.
