L.E.K. Consulting appoints Chris Bartlett as M&A partner in Sydney

Global strategy firm L.E.K. Consulting has added Chris Bartlett as a partner in its M&A Transaction Services practice out of Sydney, bringing over two and half decades of experience.

Chris Bartlett arrives after spending the past decade as a partner at Strategy&, having first joined its predecessor Booz & Company back in 2007, prior to which he also spent time in the telecoms sector with the likes of Optus and AAPT.

Strategic growth and transactions advisory within the TMT sector will continue to be Bartlett’s primary focus at L.E.K. Consulting alongside healthcare, with further expertise in areas such as infrastructure, industrials, energy, and retail.

A business marketing and finance graduate of the University of Technology Sydney with an MBA from UNSW, Bartlett kicked off his career as a systems engineer at EDS. From there he established his own advisory Bartek Consulting, contracting to PwC, IBM, Optus and AAPT among others over the following decade until joining Booz & Company as a senior associate in 2007.

Serving as an international director at Booz & Company, Bartlett would then later lead Strategy&’s deals strategy team for the Australian market, along with its local technology, media & telecoms practice, advising high-profile clients across the A/NZ, Southeast Asia, Europe and US on M&A-related matters such as inorganic growth, commercial due diligence, and value creation.

Bartlett becomes the second L.E.K. Consulting partner poached from Strategy&’s Sydney deals team in recent months, following the addition of Nawaz Isaji in May. The firm. also this year welcomed Lucy Carter as partner from EY Port Jackson Partners, while the strategy consultancy’s M&A team in Melbourne saw the elevation of returnee Henry Craig to partner among eleven global promotions.
