Scyne Advisory launches Northern Territory presence with senior recruits
Scyne Advisory has officially established its presence in the Northern Territory with the hire of several senior members.
Stuart Knowles joins the public sector consulting firm in Darwin after abruptly resigning from his role as local Inpex managing director earlier this year, having led what is one of the Territory’s biggest economic contributors since the start of 2023.
After some early job cuts amid challenging conditions, Scyne Advisory has since been back on the recruitment path, including new arrivals Joshua Smith and Gary Griffiths as managing directors and national cyber advisory lead Xenia Giannakidou.
Stuart Knowles
A long-time Territorian with a background in the armed forces and transportation sector, Knowles worked with the Department of the Chief Minister prior to joining Inpex as compliance approvals manager in 2014, ascending to the top role as the Japanese oil & gas giant stepped up its efforts towards decarbonisation. Knowles is also a director of the influential Chamber Northern Territory.
“Stuart has extensive experience across both private and public sectors, and brings a wealth of local knowledge to our team through his deep connections and understanding of the Northern Territory’s unique challenges and opportunities,” Scyne Advisory stated, adding of its new office; “We look forward to collaborating with local communities in the NT and contributing to positive change.”
Joshua Smith
Smith meanwhile joins the firm as a managing director in Melbourne, likewise bringing a public sector background, most recently as deputy secretary in the Victorian Department of Justice and Community Safety. He has also spent time as a director in the state’s health and human services department and Department of Premier & Cabinet with a focus on Aboriginal affairs.
Gary Griffiths
Griffith earlier joined Scyne as a managing director in Canberra to establish the firm’s nationwide ServiceNow practice, crossing after three years as the cloud platform’s federal director. Prior to that, he was a general manager at Nutanix, with time at VMware, ASG Group (now a part of NRI) and Good Technology among his other stints across a 25-year IT career in Australia and the US.
Xenia Giannakidou
Giannakidou crosses as national cyber advisory lead director out of Sydney after spending the past eighteen months as cyber due diligence lead at KPMG. Prior to joining the latter, she served for four and a half years with Accenture in the United Kingdom, including as the professional services giant’s European cyber threat intelligence lead, with earlier stints spent at Deloitte and SecAlliance in London.
