O’Connor Marsden & Associates (OCM) celebrates 15 years in business
From just ten staff in Sydney and Melbourne to an award-winning team of 170 country-wide, management consultancy O’Connor Marsden & Associates has celebrated its 15th anniversary.
OCM was originally established in 2009 as a pure-play probity practice by former Deloitte leaders Rory O’Connor and Andrew Marsden, but quickly evolved into a much more diverse professional services firm.
In addition to probity, the consulting firm today offers a range of services covering assurance, governance, risk & compliance, digital trust, procurement & supply chain, and workplace conduct & risk management among other areas, from eight offices nationwide.
Recently, the OCM team came together on the occasion of its 15th anniversary to celebrate the firm’s story to date, no doubt toasting to the next fifteen years as one of the country’s still fastest-growing independent management consultancies with a partner count now pushing toward one dozen – including the recently promoted Paul Gasiorowski who joined from BDO just last year.
The diverse industry experience and expertise of its practitioners, OCM says, is the firm’s most valuable asset and one of its key differentiators, enabling it to form multi-disciplinary teams focused on solving complex challenges. Gasiorowski, for example, has a degree in biomedical engineering and a master’s in public policy, backed by a 25-year professional history across numerous sectors.
This focus on attracting talent with real-world experience also allows OCM to confidently serve clients across a broad range of industries, including the transport & infrastructure, energy & resources, defence & security, government, utilities, education, and health & human services sectors among others, with outposts covering every state capital in addition to Western Sydney and Canberra.
According to managing partner Pamela Robertson-Gregg, who likewise crossed from the Deloitte partnership in OCM’s earliest days, the firm’s success can also be attributed to the core values and ethics which guide its every decision and interaction with clients and communities it serves, along with a strong focus on corporate social responsibility, which recently saw OCM institute its first RAP.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to our amazing clients, partners, and staff for their unwavering trust and support throughout the years,” the firm said on its anniversary. “We also celebrate our employees’ contributions and dedication to embracing innovation and continuous improvement. Their expertise and passion have been instrumental in helping us reach this remarkable milestone.”
