Dispute resolution specialist RSK Global Experts celebrates 1st anniversary
Global engineering and environmental group RSK has celebrated the first anniversary of its expert advisory services line RSK Global Experts, which is based out of Sydney, Singapore and London.
After its official launch at the 2023 International Bar Association (IBA) conference in Paris, RSK marked the one-year anniversary with a return to this year’s event held in Mexico City, for which it served as a gold sponsor.
While looking to further build on that momentum, the company notes that rather than being just twelve months into its journey, RSK Global Experts is the culmination of the expert knowledge it has amassed over the past thirty years.
A major component of the practice is its dispute resolution & litigation offering, which provides independent expert witnesses across arbitrations, mediations, expert determinations, and defence of claims among other areas, serving a number of highly technical industries such as the property & construction, energy & power, mining, manufacturing, transport, water, and waste sectors.
For RSK Global Experts, the latest IBA conference was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities in international law, compliance, and advisory services while strengthening its global legal and industry collaborations and expanding its network. To that end, the firm says it established fresh connections with over 100 legal professionals from around the globe during the six-day event.
Among the highlights was a presentation given by RSK’s director of professional services, Warren Percival, who spoke on PFAS (or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a group of synthetic compounds commonly found in waterproof products and cosmetics) and emerging contaminants, and their legal impacts on businesses, municipalities, aviation, agriculture, and government.
Future growth
“Looking ahead, we are excited to leverage our momentum to enhance our service offerings and invest in further advancements,” stated managing director Steve Abbott, a four-decade industry veteran. “We also plan to explore additional international conferences in the coming years and further expand our diverse panel of in-house experts.”
Based out of Sydney and London, Abbott took up the role following RSK’s purchase of Australian construction advisory and services firm SJA in 2022, the latter which continues to grow downunder. As an exemplar of RSK Global Expert’s existing bench-strength, he has previously provided witness services in relation to some of the largest construction disputes across the Asia Pacific region.
