Financial services consulting firm Oceanic Group Consulting has doubled its headcount to 70 professionals in less than twelve months, with 30 new consultants joining in January alone.

Oceanic Group Consulting (OCG) entered 2024 with a team of around 25. One year on and that figure now sits at 70, swollen by a massive January intake of 30 new starters, spread across the firm’s Sydney headquarters, recently-launched office in Melbourne and remotely across South Australia and Queensland.

Such rapid growth has even prompted an organisational restructure, with Anthony Speight (head of consulting), Danielle Radford (service delivery), and Melissa Dickson (HR) among key internal promotions to support OCG’s ongoing growth.

Speaking on the huge influx of fresh talent, managing director James Dickson stated: “A warm welcome to our 30 new, very experienced and qualified consultants, starting the year off with a bang. As we continue to grow, our team continues to be one of the most experienced and trusted in the financial services market.”

OCG was established by Dickson in 2018 after more than a decade in senior roles at the Commonwealth Bank, including stints as head of strategy & operations and advice assessment. The firm has experienced exceptional growth since 2023, and in particular over the past twelve months.

Early 2024, the consulting firm added ten new professionals, taking its total number to roughly 35 at the time. Now, OCG has just about doubled the size of its team once again in a single recruitment spree, adding 30 new advisers to its bench-strength to kick off the new year.

“OCG enters 2025 stronger than ever, welcoming 30 new consultants to our team,” the firm stated. “With experts across Australia, our people are the driving force behind the value we deliver to our clients. This significant expansion highlights the incredible talent driving our success and the strength of our growing team. Stay tuned as OCG continues to grow and achieve even more in 2025!”

OCG supports large Australian financial institutions such as banks, super funds, and stockbrokers in areas including strategy, transformations, risk management, human capital, project delivery, and capital markets.
