OCG establishes new organisational structure in response to rapid growth

Oceanic Consulting Group has doubled its headcount in less than a year, prompting the financial services strategy firm to institute a new organisational structure in response to the rapid growth.
OCG’s team has ballooned to around 70 professionals over the past twelve months, including a massive 30 new starters in January alone. This is in addition to the firm’s earlier recruitment spree last year, and recent expansion to Melbourne.
Now, the phenomenal growth has prompted OCG to rejig its organisational structure to better enhance its operational efficacy in support of clients. The new structure includes several internal promotions, with some key positions still to be filled.
“This is both an exciting milestone for us, but also an important inflection point in our maturity and growth as a business,” stated OCG managing director James Dickson. “As we continue to grow, it’s essential that our structure evolves to reflect our strategic priorities. I am confident that this new structure will bring greater clarity, collaboration, and opportunities for the OCG team.”
Having joined the firm as a director at the beginning of 2023, Danielle Radford will now serve as Head of Service Delivery, with the support of newly-promoted senior managers Luke Hill and Joseph Saheli. In her new role, Radford will be tasked with leading the delivery of OCG’s large-scale operational teams, to ensure “excellence, innovation, and efficiency” in client service.
Meanwhile, recent recruit Anthony Speight, who joined the firm as a principal toward the end of last year, takes on a more clearly defined role as Head of Consulting, through which he’ll “play a critical part in delivering high-value, client-focused advisory services while driving innovation” and further ensuring OGC’s consulting practice aligns with the firm’s strategic objectives.
Internally, Melissa Dickson has also been promoted to head of Human Resources, given oversight for driving the firm’s people strategy with a focus on creating an exceptional and inclusive workplace culture which fosters employee engagement and professional growth. OCG is also set to appoint a Chief Operating Officer from within, along with an assistant to the managing director.
“We commence the year with a fresh setup, ready to embrace new opportunities and challenges,” Dickson stated. “As we continue to grow, our team covering financial services and in particular the wealth management space, maintains exceptional client service as some of the most experienced and specialist advisors. We look forward to embracing this next chapter with energy and focus.”
