SW Accountants & Advisors continues to grow its partnership with Brent Sheers and Amy Zhang its two latest additions, the pair being promoted within the firm’s assurance & advisory division.

Stepping up from their associate director roles from the start of next month, both Sheers and Zhang joined SW as accounting graduates in Melbourne in respectively 2017 and 2014, and together lift the firm’s national partnership tally to 46 following its other recent promotions.

SW, which also this month welcomed the team from Kreston Stanley Williamson in Sydney, said the duo had been instrumental in helping to drive the success of the firm and its clients through their leadership, technical excellence, and unwavering commitment.

“These promotions reflect SW’s commitment to recognising and investing in our exceptional talent,” said SW chief executive Duane Rogers. “Both Amy and Brent exemplify the firm’s values and dedication to delivering outstanding service and strategic insights that empower our clients to succeed.”

Brent Sheers

Prior to joining SW on receiving an accounting graduate diploma with CA ANZ, Sheers completed a commerce degree with Swinburne University and spent several years as a consultant at Moore Stephens in Melbourne, which SW was born out of in 2015. Since then, Sheers has steadily risen up the ranks, being last promoted to associate director at the end of 2022.

Sheers was noted by the firm for his track record in providing tailored external audit and assurance services across a diverse range of industries, in particular for some of the SW’s largest-ever clients in the education and agribusiness sectors, and for his ability to manage complex engagements, build strong relationships, and mentor high-performing teams.

Amy Zhang

An MBA-holder from Monash University, Zhang meanwhile joined SW in Melbourne in 2014 after earlier migrating to Australia from China, with her proficiency in Mandarin and understanding of international business dynamics having since proved highly beneficial in successfully steering the firm’s advisory assignments across East Asia.

“Over the past decade, Amy has established herself as a trusted advisor, particularly in managing the firm’s Mandarin-speaking client-base and complex cross-border engagements with China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong,” SW stated. “Her leadership, strong work ethic, and ability to bridge cultures have significantly contributed to our firm’s growth.”
