DyFlex buys fellow SAP specialist Bluetree following recent investment

Perth-based SAP consultancy DyFlex Solutions has purchased east coast counterpart Bluetree in a deal following shortly on the heels of its own sale to private equity firm Five V Capital.

Founded by a trio of former Deloitte consultants in 2016, Bluetree has since expanded from its Sydney and Melbourne base to include an outlet in Auckland, offering a range of services grouped around advisory & implementation, analytics, and performance management.

The acquisition, which follows the Five V Capital investment in February, will see DyFlex Solutions extend its headcount beyond the 270-mark with 300 in sight before the end of the year, cementing the consultancy’s status as the largest independent SAP provider in Australia.

“Joining forces with DyFlex marks an exciting new chapter for Bluetree and our customers,” stated co-founders and directors Christopher Kaszelik, Alan Contreras, and Bernhard Jantschgi. “This partnership combines our expertise with DyFlex’s strengths, allowing us to deliver even greater value, stronger outcomes, and more opportunities for the organisations we support.”

DyFlex said its full-service delivery capabilities across S/4HANA and SuccessFactors would be perfectly complemented by Bluetree’s deep expertise in planning, analytics and SAP Datasphere, while also positioning the merged organisation to lead on innovation and strengthening its AI readiness as SAP’s Business Data Cloud continues to evolve.

Both firms have basked in numerous SAP awards in recent years, commonly beating out global players. Dyflex took home three gongs at last year’s A/NZ Partner Excellence Awards, including for cloud delivery excellence, while Bluetree was named partner of the year for sustainability in 2023, following up on earlier awards for service delivery and platform & technologies.

A quick scan of some of the other smaller-sized winners over the past couple of years demonstrates the level of M&A heat that remains in the local SAP consulting market. As an example, over the past year, specialists DalRae Solutions and Chrome Consulting have both been snapped up by Atturra, while FAIR Consulting swallowed Brightwater Technology.

Meanwhile, DyFlex made no secret that it would also adopt an acquisitive strategy following its recent capital injection, with co-CEO Jason Heaney stating at the time; “With Five V’s expertise and resources, we are accelerating our expansion across the east coast, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. Moreover, we are actively seeking like-minded SAP consultancies for acquisition to enhance our capabilities and presence.”
