Fusion5 recruits Capgemini Taruon Virmani as head of delivery & operations
Trans-Tasman technology consultancy Fusion5 has recruited Capgemini veteran Taruon Virmani as its new head of delivery & operations, continuing a recent run of senior executive appointments.
Virmani, who will be based out of Sydney, crosses from Accenture, where he has spent the past eighteen months as a managing director, before which he clocked up close to two and a half decades at Capgemini, latterly as head of delivery for financial services.
Virmani reunites with former Capgemini A/NZ and Southeast Asia chief executive Deepak Nangia, who was appointed Fusion5 group CEO late last year, with McKinsey alum Jaime Enriquez also coming on board at the start of the year as head of strategy & transformation.
“We’re excited to have Taruon join the Fusion5executive team,” the firm stated. “At Fusion5, we’re strengthening how we deliver for our customers by bringing together delivery, operations, security and internal capability in a more connected and scalable way. This is about ensuring we continue to provide consistent, high-quality outcomes as both we and our customers grow.”
Joining in 2001, Virmani spent altogether 23 years at Capgemini– also briefly crossing paths with Fusion5 chair Rebecca Tohill, who was a vice president up until 2002 when she founded the firm in Wellington – likewise working his way up to vice president and head of financial services before crossing to Accenture as a client account and insurance technology portfolio lead.
In this capacity, Virmani served as the primary contact point for a key global client, responsible for the full engagement life-cycle from contract negotiations through to building diverse, high-performing teams across geographies, while at Capgemini he also led large-scale delivery and operations for major financial services sector clients across complex technology environments.
“As organisations grow and adapt to the influence of AI, delivering high-value services and support becomes more complex.” Virmani said. “My focus is bringing the right structure, tools, and ways of working together in a way that is connected, scalable, and built around customer outcomes, and I’m looking forward to working with the fantastic Fusion5 team and making a real impact.”
It’s been a big twelve months for Fusion5 since rebranding this time last year, with the continued expansion of its services portfolio through ongoing acquisitions and the appointment of leadership heavyweight Nangia. Also on board during that time was Enriquez in the newly-created strategy & transformation role, bringing more than a decade of experience at McKinsey & Company.
