Pitcher Partners promotes Liesl Malcolm and Stephen Craig to partner
Pitcher Partners has strengthened its Corporate Finance leadership team with two new partners. Both Liesl Malcolm and Stephen Craig have been promoted internally and are based in Melbourne.
Liesl Malcolm has been with Pitcher Partners since 2007, having previously served another professional services firm (PKF). An expert in valuations, Malcolm provides expert reports for transactions, litigation matters, financial reporting purposes, tax restructures, and employee equity valuations.
Commenting on her career milestone, Malcolm said that she is passionate about guiding clients through the valuation process to a positive outcome – “it’s a highly rewarding part of my job. I’m looking forward to my new role as a partner.”
Stephen Craig joined Pitcher Partners in 2015, having worked previously in a boutique advisory firm focused on the mining sector and in industry. He works on both the buy and sell sides of mergers and acquisitions, and on the due diligence that accompanies the process.
Commenting on his appointment, Craig said: “Pitcher Partners has a strong reputation within the dealmaking market and I’m pleased to be appointed partner and embrace the terrific opportunity for me to grow my career in this practice.”
Brendan Britten, Managing Partner of Pitcher Partners in Melbourne, said: “Liesl and Stephen’s commitment to understanding our clients upholds our reputation for providing excellent commercial acumen and technical expertise. They will each bring their unique skills and understanding of the middle market to our partnership, as well as the leadership they have shown in helping to grow our Corporate Finance practice.”
Recent research from the Corporate Finance wing with Mergermarket found that Australia’s M&A landscape has slowed in the first six months of the year. Underlying long term deal fundamentals however remain strong.
In the summer, Pitcher Partners added eight new members to its partnership.
