EY and DXC leaders to speak at InsurtechLIVE conference
A number of speakers from the consulting realm are scheduled to appear at next month’s InsurtechLIVE conference in Sydney, including leaders and industry veterans from EY and DXC.
Scheduled for mid-next month, this year’s InsurtechLIVE conference will feature a number of local and international expert speakers covering the latest developments in the insurance technology space, including a trio of leaders from principal event sponsor Ernst & Young.
Alongside Insurtech Australia CEO Simone Dossetor, a one-time associate director with Deloitte in the United Kingdom, the opening address will be delivered by Grant Peters, EY’s Sydney-based Asia Pacific insurance sector lead and head of financial services for Oceania.
Peters has been with EY in various leadership roles for over two and a half decades, joining after a decade-long stint with the Commonwealth Bank. He currently leads a team of over 17,000 professionals.
Taking place on the 15th of February at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, InsurtechLIVE 2023 is hosted by Insurtech Australia, a non-profit industry association which supports dozens of start-up members in helping to grow the local insurance innovation segment into a global leader. The event will feature a series of addresses and panel discussions spotlighting the insurtech investment environment and the role of technology in enabling industry evolution.
EY experts Andy Parton and David McNamara will also feature on the bill, presenting the firm’s financial services business transformation platform Nexus. The pair have amassed extensive industry experience. A partner since 2015 in Sydney, Parton previously spent over two decades at Accenture, including as head of insurance.
Melbourne-based associate partner McNamara meanwhile spent almost two decades between Accenture and PwC, as well as nine years at Willis Towers Watson.
“Given the amount of change and disruption happening in our industry at the moment, we couldn’t be happier to support an event like InsurtechLIVE 2023, underscoring our commitment to forward-thinkers looking to bring about advanced insurance solutions, products and services,” Parton told online industry publication Insurancenews.com.au. “The role of insurtech in this will only continue to grow and deliver even more value in the years to come.”
In addition to the trio of EY experts, DXC Technology APAC insurance head Michael Neary will also make an appearance. Sydney-based Neary is another financial services veteran, with more than three decades of experience in leadership roles at organisations such as Telstra, the Credit Union Services Corporation, and Commonwealth Bank, along with numerous board and committee positions including in advisory for Insurtech Australia. Neary joined DXC in mid-2015.
