August Consulting provides procurement advice to new refinery
Procurement and supply chain consultancy August Consulting has helped one of its oil & gas clients with the delivery of a large, complex refinery project.
The client company, a global leader in integrated energy solutions, designs, builds and maintains energy assets.
As part of the build of a new refinery, August Consulting helped the company deliver the project, providing strategic procurement advice and implementation support. The firm’s consultants guided the competitive tender process for several procurement packages, across a range of design, manufacture and supply requirements.
Among the activities August Consulting helped support were:
- Preparing RFP/RFQ packages, incorporating both engineering and commercial requirements
- Issuing the RFP/RFQ packages to the vendors and bid collections on time
- Responding to pre- and post-submission clarifications
- Formulating the commercial bid evaluation and recommendation to estimate, toshortlist & negotiate, and for award
- Providing negotiation support
The outcome
Building on the work provided by August Consulting, the oil & gas company was able to maintain competitive tension throughout the procurement process, including best and final negotiations with shortlisted suppliers. This improved the company’s commercial outcomes from the process.
