Protiviti cycles in Tour de Cure in support of cancer research and awareness

For the second year in a row, Protiviti is participating in Tour de Cure 2025, with ‘Team Protiviti’ already surpassing its fundraising target with two weeks still to go. Tour de Cure’s fundraising is channelled to initiatives that support cancer research and awareness nationwide.
Launched in 2007, Tour de Cure was founded with the aim of improving Australians health outcomes and to raise $2 million. Since then, Tour de Cure has established itself as one of NSW’s better-known fundraising events, building a widespread backing among organisations and communities, with total proceeds raised now at over $130 million.
Donations from Tour de Cure have co-funded over 900 projects to date focused on cancer research, prevention, and support projects, as well as led to the publication of 140-plus cancer breakthroughs.
Taking place from March 8 - 11, the 2025 edition will see over 200 cyclists embark on the challenging 240 to 390 kilometer journey from Mudgee to Sydney, stopping in communities such as Bathurst to engage local schools with life-saving cancer awareness messages.
Team Protiviti
In preparation for the demanding ride, Team Protiviti’s cyclers are undergoing 16 weeks of rigorous training, covering hundreds of kilometres. The Team has so far raised $3,500 (at the time of writing), around half of the firm’s $7,500 target.
“But we’re committed to raising more,” said Richard Turley, Managing Director at Protiviti and team captain. “In 2024 we raised more than $11,000 against our $5,000 target, and this year we plan to do the same.”
Asked about the firm’s commitment to the event, he said: “Ride for a Cure is crucial because proceeds fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs, and support services, directly improving the lives of those impacted by cancer. It’s incredible to see how much of an impact Tour de Cure has made, but there’s so much further to go.”
Turley further noted that Protiviti’s partnership for the second year reinforces the global business consulting firm’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, and its dedication to contributing to the fight against cancer. “This sponsorship is about more than just cycling – it’s about hope, community, and transforming lives.”
“Supporting cancer research is deeply personal to me,” added Daniel Grazel, Associate Director at Protiviti. “Like so many others, I have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of this disease on friends and family, losing loved ones along the way. This is my first time participating in Tour de Cure Australia, but I rode in Ride Across Britain a few years ago, and it was a very rewarding experience.”
Brooke Osbourne, Senior Manager at Protiviti, said: “Ride for Cure is an important event as it offers a unique opportunity to combine physical challenges with the aim of raising money to fund the discovery of new treatments, enhancing existing ones, and improving the lives of those affected by cancer. The event really resonates with Tour de Cure’s goal of ensuring we stay fit, happy and healthy.”
Protiviti is a global consulting firm with over 90 offices in over 25 countries. In Australia, the firm has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth.
