HLB Mann Judd adds four partners and directors across Australia
Accounting and consulting firm HLB Mann Judd has made four partner and director promotions in Australia to kick-start the new year, following on from the ten added in November last year.
Warrick Oakes and Donna Arnold have been promoted to partner in HLB Mann Judd’s Sydney office, while David Prescott steps up across in Perth. Additionally, Troy Smith has been elevated to director level in Adelaide.
The latest promotions follow the three partners and six directors added in November, alongside the pick up of Perth-based A-Plus Business Advisors, while HLB Mann Judd has also started the year with Mark Muller as its new Australasian chair.
“Our profession is evolving rapidly with increasing complexity across all practices, and demand for sophisticated tax advice, transaction support and innovation incentives is accelerating,” Muller said. “These promotions highlight the areas where we see the greatest need – complex corporate and international tax, M&A and valuation expertise, and R&D-focused growth strategies.”
Donna Arnold
A member of the tax consulting & compliance team in Sydney, Arnold has been with HLB for more than a decade across two stints, split by time spent as a director at the Australian Tax Office. She also gained experience earlier in her career at Withers in the US, and specialises in corporate and international tax planning and cross-border structuring and advisory.
Warrick Oakes
Oakes joined the firm’s corporate advisory division with a focus on mergers & acquisitions in 2016 after almost a decade spent at UHY Haines Norton in Sydney. He provides both buy- and sell-side transaction advisory services in areas such due diligence, valuations, and strategic and succession planning to a broad range of local and international cross-sector clients.
David Prescott
Prescott first joined HLB in 2007 as an accounting cadet from Curtin University and spent close to a decade at the firm before departing for the UK. He then returned in 2018 and has since worked his way up to partner within the Perth business advisory practice providing accounting and taxation services to a diverse range of clients with a particular focus on regulatory compliance.
Troy Smith
Joining in 2019 from a local boutique, Smith heads up HLB’s R&D tax incentive offering in Adelaide. Newly-promoted to director, he supports start-ups and small-to-medium enterprises along with ASX-listed companies with their growth and innovation initiatives through strategic advisory and a comprehensive knowledge of various research & development incentives.
