LinkedIn names EY, McKinsey and Deloitte top ANZ employers
Global business network platform LinkedIn has unveiled its Top Companies List for 2021, showcasing the country’s top 25 employers for career growth. Consulting giant EY tops the list, with McKinsey & Company and Deloitte also landing a spot in the illustrious ranking.
Compiled from data examining the career paths of millions of professionals in Australia, as well as how companies are attracting and investing in talent, LinkedIn’s top employer ranking aims at helping Aussies who are eyeing the next step in their career journey.
“It’s important to find a workplace that will allow you to advance your ability, grow your skills, and that encourages diversity,” stated LinkedIn in its release. “The top companies in Australia focus on creating great career opportunities with flexibility in the workplace.”
Topping the list is EY, an accounting and consulting firm with over 8,000 employees in Australia. The firm is one of the Big Four in the industry (alongside Deloitte, KPMG and PwC), but was the only of this group to not announce large-scale job cuts amid the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. The firm is also the fastest growing of the quartet.
Optus, Macquarie, ResMed and Commonwealth Bank complete the top five, with Bosch, Woolworths (which just hired BCG senior partner Amitabh Mall), OBM, and US-tech giants Amazon and Google rounding off the top ten.
Adding to the consulting representation are McKinsey & Company and Deloitte. The globe’s largest strategy consulting firm, which launched down under in 1962, ranked twenty-second in LinkedIn’s list, and has over 600 partners and consultants working from offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
Deloitte is the second-largest of the Big Four in Australia, with revenues of around $2.5 billion, generated by a 9,000-strong workforce. The firm has a broad offering, supporting clients with audit, accounting, financial advisory, management consulting, deals, legal and technology services. Deloitte is led by Adam Powick, who was installed as chief executive two weeks ago.
