HLB Mann Judd appoints leaders across Australia and New Zealand
Mid-tier accounting and consulting firm HLB Mann Judd has made seven partner and director appointments across its Australian and New Zealand offices.
In Perth, HLB Mann Judd has appointed Greg Quin as its new managing partner for Insolvency in Western Australia. Also in Perth, Gaurav Chitnis and David Healy have joined the partnership, while office colleague David Prescott steps up to director.
Dylan D’Costa has meanwhile been added to the partnership in Auckland. Prue Cheeseman-Goodes and Vince Cardamone have been promoted to director respectively in Sydney and Wollongong.
Australasian chair Tony Fittle said the number of new appointments illustrated the firm’s commitment to developing its professionals. “The next six to 12 months will be challenging for Australian businesses as our economy enters a phase of real uncertainty. For professional service firms like ours, having the right people in the right roles will ensure our clients are strategically and financially positioned to manage the current and future challenges.”
Greg Quin has been a partner with the firm since the start of 2021, having first joined HLB Mann Judd in 2009 while studying accounting at Deakin University. According to his company bio, Quin primarily specialises in voluntary administrations, creditors’ voluntary liquidations and bankruptcies, and is a member of both Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and the Australian Restructuring, Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA).
“Given the economic outlook, insolvency will likely be an area to experience high demand and require specialist capabilities,” stated Fittle. “Greg will be a steady hand and provide senior counsel and guidance to the Insolvency WA firm. Greg’s appointment demonstrates how important the insolvency division is to the continuing success of the firm, and I have the utmost faith in Greg’s ability to deliver results as he transitions from partner to managing partner.”
Gaurav Chitnis crosses to HLB’s tax consulting team after four years with local Perth specialist MKT, having spent the prior eight years at Cooper Partners. David Healy has been a member of HLB Mann Judd’s Corporate & Audit Services division since 2009, following earlier stints at Rio Tinto, the Commonwealth Bank and RSM.
“I am thrilled to take on a more active role in training younger members who are embarking on their own professional journey,” Healy stated on LinkedIn. “Guiding staff through audit procedures, evolving regulatory frameworks and new methodologies, whilst sharing the knowledge I’ve gained in different sectors is immensely rewarding. I believe that investing in the next generation is crucial for maintaining the high standards of our profession.”
In addition, Business Advisory Services leader David Prescott has made the step up to director in Perth, having been with HLB for almost a decade and a half across two stints, while Dylan D’Costa has been promoted to partner in Auckland, after first joining as a graduate in 2011.
HLB Mann Judd further noted the promotions of Prue Cheeseman-Goodes, as a director in its Sydney wealth management division, and Vince Cardamone, who is based out of the firm’s Wollongong office.
