Economics and research advisory firm Mandala has continued the growth of its senior ranks with the addition of Tom McMahon to its partnership.

The most senior hire since the firm’s founding just under two years ago, Tom McMahon brings over 15 years of experience in management consulting and the public sector to the firm. Having started his career in public service, McMahon then crossed to consulting where he served strategy boutique AlphaBeta (acquired by Accenture).

Following a year at Industry Super Australia, McMahon most recently served as Deputy CEO of Tech Council of Australia – the body representing the nation’s technology sector and digital ecosystem.

Amit Singh, managing partner of Mandala, said that McMahon’s arrival will strengthen the firm’s capabilities in areas such as economic, superannuation, digital platforms, cloud and hyperscale, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing. The new partner also has deep experience in human capital and workforce analysis.

“We are thrilled to elevate Tom as a partner. His extensive experience in technology policy and data science will be instrumental in bolstering our ability to provide cutting-edge insights to our clients. Tom has been at the forefront of shaping the technology landscape in the country. His leadership in data science aligns perfectly with Mandala’s focus on using strategy methods and data insights to inform public policy.”

Mandala is an economics, strategy, and policy consulting firm that offers expert advice and solutions to governments, businesses, and organisations. Since its inception, the firm has enjoyed steep growth, now operating as a 40-person business. Mandala’s rise hasn’t gone unnoticed – earlier this year it landed a spot in a list of Australia’s leading economics consulting firms.

Singh: “We look forward to working with Tom on extending and enhancing Mandala’s reputation for innovation in economic research and advisory services and further solidifying Mandala’s position as a rapidly growing leader in the field.”
