Business Aspect celebrates major milestone: 20th anniversary

Management and technology consulting firm Business Aspect has celebrated the 20th anniversary of its founding in the Brisbane suburb of Spring Hill and acquisition by Data#3 one decade later.
Today, Business Aspect has grown to a team of more than 100 professionals – including recent leadership recruit Luke McLean – who together provide a broad range of performance improvement and digital transformation services covering strategy, architecture, risk, planning, design, and governance.
“From humble beginnings in a small cottage in Spring Hill to becoming a recognised name in the industry, our journey has been defined by continuous adaptation and an unrelenting focus on delivering the best outcomes for our customers,” said Business Aspect general manager Peter Jarrett.
Those clients typically operate in the government, education, healthcare, banking & financial services, and energy, mining & utilities sectors, with support provided from offices now extending from Business Aspect’s original Brisbane base to Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Perth.
The company’s most significant milestone in its 20-year journey came in 2014, when Business Aspect was acquired for $12 million by ASX-listed tech services firm Data#3, which in its last financial year posted revenues of $815 million. However, Business Aspect has continued to operate under its own independent brand in the decade since.
“Since the acquisition, Business Aspect has seamlessly integrated into our team, bringing immense value and expertise,” stated Data#3 CEO Brad Colledge. “Consulting has always been a core part of our strategy, and Business Aspect has played a pivotal role in helping our customers navigate their technology projects, challenges, implementations, and best-practices.”
To mark its anniversary, the firm has been canvassing its professionals for their reflections, including cyber security & risk national practice manager Brendon Taylor, one of Business Aspect’s five founding partners who noted they had all previously worked together on different projects before realising there was an opportunity in the market for a brand new advisory.
Meanwhile, speaking on the future, Jarrett, who has been with the company for its past eight years, concluded; “Our goal is to guide customers through the complexities of the digital and AI landscape, providing them with the expertise and support they need to thrive. Our commitment to delivering impactful outcomes for our customers is as strong as ever.”
