Alvin Oh joins data and AI consultancy V2 as partner in Sydney

Fast-growing Australian data and AI consultancy V2 has recruited Deloitte’s Alvin Oh as a partner in Sydney, bringing more than two decades of IT industry experience.
Alvin Oh joins V2 from Deloitte Consulting, where as a principal he has spent the past three years leading the Big Four firm’s application modernisation offering for the Asia Pacific, prior to which he was a technical principal at Cognizant acquisition Contino.
Established by former Contino APAC managing director Craig Howe in 2023, V2 quickly attracted a $30 million private capital injection to fast-track its growth, and has since been further building up its capabilities and leadership ranks through a string of recruits.
“Having worked alongside Alvin previously, I’ve witnessed his exceptional experience building and leading strong teams,” Howe stated. “Alvin’s expertise will help V2 deliver on increasing needs for data and AI capabilities that yield modernisation and meaningful outcomes for our enterprise clients.”
A masters holder in computing from Monash, Oh spent the early part of his career at automotive software company Pentana Solutions, before then making his way to Deloitte for his first three-year stint as a senior Java developer. A similar period at Odecee – another future Cognizant acquisition – followed, its founders since going on to set up Mantel Group.
No stranger to M&A activity in the local IT sector, Oh would later become a founding partner in DevOps and cloud consultancy Nebulr (via time at Vibrato, which was purchased by Servian in 2019, with Servian then picked up two years later by none-other than Cognizant). Established by Howe, Nebulr was quickly snapped up by Contino.
V2 described Oh as having a proven track record in delivering complex, multi-million dollar enterprise IT modernisation and transformation programs for clients across a range of industries, including the financial services, retail, and energy & utilities sectors, which are among the firm's primary industry focal points.
“V2 is at the forefront of technological innovation, driven by exceptional talent and rapid growth,” Oh said. “The powerful combination of data and AI unlocks valuable insights and fuels enterprise growth. As a partner, I will accelerate AI and modernisation capabilities, empowering clients to fully leverage data & AI while bridging people, processes, and technology.”
Elsewhere, Howe noted that the firm is currently on the hunt for a chief customer officer to continue its rapid growth trajectory, with further partner opportunities also open in Melbourne and V2’s Surry Hills headquarters in Sydney. Alongside Howe and the C-suite, V2’s currently-listed partners include Lucy Hardy, Jamie Nelson, Andrew Venables, and Odhran O’Brien.
