Argon & Co partners with Kaizen Institute to support retailers
Operations strategy and transformation consultancy Argon & Co has teamed up with the Kaizen Institute to support Australian and New Zealand retailers with performance improvement and store optimisations.
As part of the strategic partnership, Argon & Co clients in A/NZ will gain access to the proven tools, methodologies, and expertise of the renowned Kaizen Institute, which has brought the philosophy of continuous improvement to the business world for the past 40 years.
“By integrating Kaizen Institute’s globally successful optimisation tools with Argon & Co’s strategic oversight, we are poised to deliver transformative results for our retail clients,” stated A/NZ managing partner Paul Eastwood. “This partnership is not just about improving operations; it’s about fostering a culture of continuous improvement that propels sustainable growth.”
Already challenged by rising costs and operational complexities such as supply chain disruption, Argon & Co notes that many retailers in the region are also currently contending with underperforming stores due to a number of other convergent factors, including fragmented processes, labour inefficiencies, and a disconnect between central planning and in-store execution.
Its new partnership with the Kaizen Institute, Argon & Co says, was specifically forged and designed to address these issues which are commonly compounded by limited in-house capacity to scale remedial initiatives, with their joint delivery model providing for the prompt and effective implementation of tailored solutions to unlock significant profitability and cash flow gains.
“Retailers today face mounting pressure to do more with less, yet many lack a structured and effective approach to drive sustainable profit & loss improvements at scale,” commented Kaizen Institute director Diogo Felisberto. “Through our partnership with Argon & Co, we’re bringing proven Kaizen methodologies to the local market in a way that’s both strategic and actionable.”
From diagnostics to continuous improvement
By integrating Argon & Co’s end-to-end operations expertise with Kaizen methodologies, the new strategic partners say that clients can expect a structured, phased approach combining rapid diagnostics with embedded performance and cultural improvements, leading to process standardisation, enhanced labour productivity, and greater customer experience and satisfaction.
“Having worked closely with Kaizen Institute team, I’ve seen first-hand their global expertise and pragmatic, people-first approach,” said Argon & Co partner James Lee, leader of the firm’s Lean retail offering. “This collaboration strengthens our ability to deliver measurable outcomes for retailers by bridging the gap between high-level strategy and store-level execution.”
Founded in France in 2001, Argon & Co continues to build up steam in the A/NZ, with a regional headcount now in excess of 200 consultants following a string of key acquisitions since 2022, Bevington Group being the latest. That momentum also looks set to continue, with the global firm recently securing additional growth funding from a trio of top private equity investors.
