Digital innovation consultancy R/GA has launched a new ‘Lean Experience Stack’ offering for the APAC region – aimed at building and redesigning digital ecosystems for the new age.

Digital and business transformation consultancy R/GA has launched an innovative ‘Lean Experience Stack’ offering in Australia and the wider Asia Pacific – aimed at building and redesigning digital ecosystems for the new age. With outlets in Sydney and Melbourne together with Tokyo, Singapore and Shanghai, the new service line will allow clients across the region to create best-in-class digital experiences with a faster time to market and lower investment outlay.

“Today’s ever shifting landscapes demand a solution that’s agile, scalable and future-proof, and we’re very excited to be helping companies make that shift with the launch of the Lean Experience Stack,” said R/GA’s APAC Executive Technology Director Anthony Baker, who will head up the practice and lead the newly established Lean Experience Stack team. Baker has been with the firm for the past nine years, originally joining as a solutions architect in London.

Leveraging contemporary digital solutions such as cognitive technologies, serverless cloud computing, and modular architecture and built around continuous innovation and agile experience design, the new technology stack has already been tested in the birthplace of Lean, through a partnership with Japan-based global beauty brand Shiseido Professional. Following the project, Shiseido was able to reuse its core business services across a range of digital interfaces.

“With trends evolving rapidly in the beauty industry, we needed a nimble, connected platform to stay at the forefront of these shifts,” commented Shiseido Professional Vice President & Global Brand Director Claudia Kim on the successful collaboration with R/GA Tokyo. “R/GA built an agile ecosystem that powered our digital innovation platform, enabling thousands of our stylists to create beauty and express themselves in the work they do – faster and more seamlessly.”

As part of the implementation, R/GA built a new microservices architecture to streamline Shiseido’s content and asset management process, allowing for tailored experiences among its brand partners, administrators, professional stylists, and end consumers. R/GA also helped to maximise content across all region-wide channels by consolidating its asset library and creating a new platform on which content can be edited and published with local autonomy in real-time.

The latter served to revamp Shiseido customer relationship management systems and drive consumers to products and salons, while at the same time reducing operational costs. “R/GA’s commitment to clients is to help them change in order to grow and we’ve partnered with iconic global and local brands to deliver unparalleled customer experiences in the face of exponential disruption,” stated Tuomas Peltoniemi, R/GA’s EVP Managing Director for APAC.

Founded as a design agency in the 1970s in New York, and now with 17 offices across Europe, the Asia Pacific and North and South America, R/GA has in more recent times expanded and evolved into a business and digital consultancy with offerings in business, experience, and marketing transformation through its highly-touted and award-winning consulting, ventures, technology, design, marketing communications, and intellectual property practices.
